G. Wright - February 2

The English Lit class will watch video on "The Cop and the Anthem" by O'Henry.  Upon completion of the video students will do a contrast and comparsion chart on characters and plot of story.  Mrs. Wright will give a demonstration on how to set up the chart.  Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato will each have (2) groups a piece to work with.  The students will design the chart as Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato facilitate.

The students in healthcare class have completed their research on the benefits of medical marijuana (cannabis) which is used in a drug to treat diseases and the negatives of just using marijuana.  The students will type their reports and present.  Presentations will begin on Tuesday.  As students present, Mrs. Wright will check for understanding.

The World History class is working on a project involving the inventions of computers.  Mrs. Wright has assigned groups the inventors of the computer and the person that invented programming.  The other two groups looked up information on Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.  One student has been assigned to draw a computer and label the parts.  Each group has also been assigned to research the basic programs that most computers offer such as desktop publishing, word processing, database, internet, and spreadsheet.  This research will describe what each program is how they operate.  Each group will present the information that they have researched.  Group presentations will begin Tuesday or Wednesday.

The month of February we will also introduce Black history people that have contributed as writers, authors, healthcare providers, and technology experts.
