The English Lit class will begin a character study on current O'Henry short story.  Each student will be assigned a character to research.


Test in Economics on budgets.


Students will work to pass in and complete missing assignments.

Students in English Lit will listen to next O'Henry short story on audio.  They will be asked to rewrite their own ending to the story to share during class time.


The healthcare class will wrap up infomercial presentations on body mass index.

Students in Healthcare will begin presenting their infomercials on body mass index.


The Economics class will complete budget on Metro Atlanta information.

Open book test on Ransom of Red Chief.  Introduction to new short story by O'Henry.


Students will complete work on informercials on body mass index for presentation on Wednesday in Healthcare class.


The students in Economics will begin work on their budget sheet on research from information gathered from internet on cost of living indicators for Metro Atlanta.

Review and prepare students for open book test in English Lit on Tuesday "the Ransom of Red Chief."  Facilitated by Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato.


Students in Healthcare will put their finishing touches on their informercial presentations for body mass index due to be presented on Wednesday.  Facilitated by Mrs. Wright, Ms. Plato and Mrs. Ryan.


The Economics class will research the cost of apartments, mortgages, and utilities in the metro Atlanta to assist them in completing a budget worksheet.  Groups will be appointed by Mrs. Wright to research each area.

Students will use this day to complete missing assignments in English Lit, Healthcare and Economics.  They will have assistance from Mrs. Wright, Ms. Plato and a peer that is selected to work with a particular student.

The students and teachers will read the next O'Henry story together.  They will look up a synonym and antomyn for the vocabulary.  The final asssignment is for them to produce a sentence for each vocabulary word.


Students in Healthcare will be asked to share different things about their project on body mass index (especially) what they have learned that they can apply to their own lives.


The economics class will exchange projects read over them and share with the group that they have been assigned to present their classmates assignment.

Students in Healthcare class will continue to work on project on body mass index (bmi).


The students in Economics will continue to work on occupation and budget project.

Students in English Lit will be given a study packet for test on "Ransom of Red Chief."  Test will be given on Wednesday.  Students will work with Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato in groups to reread the story and answer the questions.


The Healthcare class is beginning to work on a project involving Body Mass Index.  Each student will be able to determine their (bmi) using netbooks.  They will record what they currently have for meals during the day and come up with a new and improved meal plan to help improve or boost body mass index.


The students in economics will research an occupation and then begin to design a household budget based upon working in that occupation.  Mrs. Wright will allow students to work with a partner as well as herself and Ms. Plato to complete the assignment.

Students in English Lit will prepare for a test on short story "Ransom of Red Chief."  Mrs. Wright will have a prepared study packet for them to work on.


The Healthcare will compare the various diet plans available such as Jenni Craig, etc.  The students will be required to do a comparison chart on the benefits of the various plans.


Students in economics will wrap up working on budgets by sharing their assignments in group settings.

Students in English Lit will view a video on the short story "The Ransom of Red Chief."  They will be asked to make up questions for their classmates to answer.  The questions can be true/false or random questions.


The Healthcare class will complete nutrition chart.  Students will also be introduced to various products that have a diet plan.


The Economics class will complete household budgets.

Students in English Lit will complete individual character study on "the Ransom of Red Chief."  The class will be listen to a different version of the story on audiobook.  Students will make up questions to ask each other in groups.  Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato will facilitate.


The students in Healthcare will continue working on their weight chart for children and adults.  They will use height, age and body mass index to assist them in working on the chart.  Students will also begin making up a nutrition chart to guide them in terms of diets and exercise.  Mrs. Wright will introduce with facilitation from Ms. Plato and Mrs. Ryan.


The economics class will be shown a video on family budgets.  They will be required to make up their own budgets to include rent, renters insurance, house note, utilities, car note, insurance, grocery, clothing, etc.

G. Wright - April 13

The students in English Lit will reread the short story "the Ransom of Red Chief" in groups with Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato facilitating.  The first assignment is that students will write their own ending to the story.  Students will chose and complete a character study using netbooks.


Students in Healthcare will begin to look at what is considered normal weight for Americans.  Each group will be asked to look up a chart with normal weight for children and adults.  The charts will include weight, height and body mass index.  Students will define what body mass index is and understand what this means and how it applies to what is considered normal weight.  Mrs. Wright will also show a video on what normal weight is supposed to be to include body mass index.  Students will be asked to make their own chart of what they feel appropriate weight is supposed to be for them as well as adults.  The class will also understand how diet and exercise help.


The fourth block class will be introduced to the topic of economics.  Students will view a video on what economics is and how basic economics affect our households.  The class will learn about budgets and money management.
