G. Wright - April 3

Assignments and projects will be completed and passed in for the week of March 30 - April 3.

G. Wright - April 2

Students in English Lit will read O'Henry's short story with Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato.  Each student will be asked to choose a person from the story to do a character study.  Netbooks will be used for this assignment.


The Healthcare class will begin studying charts on what is considered normal weight for children, teenagers and adults.  Students will also study the kinds of exercises that are good for individuals of all ages.  Mrs. Wright will assign each group a chart to study and put together for healthy weight.  Each group will research why it is suggested that a child, teenager or adult should weigh a certain amount based on body mass index and other indicators that are factored in.  Netbooks will be used for assignment.  Mrs. Wright will introduce assignment.   Ms. Plato and Ms. Ryan will assist with assignment.


The World history class will begin presentations on the invention of television, cable and satellite.  Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato will facilitate.

G. Wright - April 1

The English Lit class will listen to O'Henry's short story of "the Ransom of Red Chief" on audio.  Assignments for Tuesday will be completed today.


Students in Healthcare class will review what they worked on Tuesday.  The assignment today will be to include on their charts what they had for a dinner meal on last night.  They will decide if the meal was healthy.  This meal will be included on their chart.  Each student will come up with an additional dinner meal on their own that they consider healthy.


The World history class will continue working on their class projects on the invention of television.  They will prepare them for presentation on Thursday and Friday.


Mrs. Wright with the assistance of Ms. Plato will work with students individually or in groups.

G. Wright - March 31

Students in English Lit will begin reading O'Henry's next short story "the Ransom of Red Chief.  They will be required to work on vocabulary using thesarus.com to look up synonyms and antonyms.  Each student will also be required to use vocabulary to produce a written sentence for each word.   Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato will be working with individual students on these assignments.


The Healthcare class will review their assignments on healthy eating for breakfast.  Students will begin working on their charts to include what they eat currently for lunch and to make up a menu that is healthy for the second meal of the day.  They will work on this assignment as a group and also discuss their reasons with group members.  Mrs. Wright, Ms. Plato and Ms. Ryan will facilitate assignment.


The World history class will begin placing their assignments in reference to television on poster boards.  These assignments will also include research each group is doing on the different cable companies.

The English Lit class will have their test on "After Twenty Years."  The class will be introduced to the next O'Henry short story.


Students in Healthcare will begin a unit on healthy eating and exercise.  The class will begin by studying what we usually have for breakfast and how healthy the first meal of the day should be.  Students will be required to make a chart on what they eat now for breakfast and to add to the chart foods that are considered healthy.


The World history class will continue working on their class projects on television to include the first inventions, black and white, color, cable, digital and satellite.  Students will discuss completed projects in groups.  A date will be determined upon completion.

Mrs. Wright will lead and facilitate with the assistance of Ms. Plato and Mrs. Ryan.

Test in English Lit on "After Twenty Years."  The students will begin the next O'Henry short story.


Students in Healthcare will develop charts on healthy eating with the assistance of Mrs. Wright, Ms. Plato and Mrs. Ryan.


The World History class will continue to work on cable and satellite assignments in comparing and contrasting both services as well as what different companies offer.

Reports will be concluded on women authors in English Lit.  Students will continue studying and working on their study guides with the assistance of Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato.  Test to be given on Thursday.


The healthcare reports on women in the health field will conclude.  Students will continue studying healthy eating patterns to include an exercise program.


Students in World History will begin comparing the differences in cable and satellite.  They will also compare and contrast what the various cable/satellite companies offer in terms of packages to the public to include pricing, etc.

The reports will begin in English Lit on women authors.  The last 30 to 45 minutes will be spent with students working and reviewing their study guides for a test on "After Twenty Years" on Thursday.


Reports will begin in Healthcare with Women in Health related fields.


Students in World History will continue with work on the invention of cable and satellite TV.  The class will explore the individuals with the ideas for cable and satellite.  They will also study about the companies that offer these services such as Comcast (Xfinity), Directv, Dish Network, At&t, etc.

The English Lit class will prepare for a test on O'Henry's After Twenty Years short story.  They will receive a study packet from Mrs. Wright.  The class will also complete reports on women writers for presentation Tuesday or Wednesday.


Students in Healthcare will complete reports on women in the health field to report Tuesday or Wednesday.  The Healthcare class will begin a new unit on healthy eating and exercise.  The class will look at weight charts that can be used as a guide to maintain healthy weights as youth, adults and senior adults.


The World History class will complete the unit on technology by studying cable and satellite television inventions.  The class will also begin a unit on Economics.


Each of the three classes are lead by Mrs. Wright who also facilitates with the assistance of Ms. Plato.

Students will complete missing assignments and projects for the week of March 16.


Mr. Wright will present to students in Communcation for business on the topic of preparation for a career after high school.  Topics to be covered include getting the best education, graduating, attitude, job training, interviewing skills, etc.

Students in English Lit will begin working projects on individual Women authors as we continue to focus on Women's history month.   Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato will facilitate as well as work with students that need additional assistance.


The Healthcare will begin working on individual projects on Women in Healthcare as we continue to celebrate Women's history month.  


The students in economics will be introduced to the factors of production.  They will learn what economics is and how the factors play a role.   Mrs. Wright will introduce both topics.  Class activity to follow on factors of production.

Students will read the O'Henry short story again "Twenty Years."  They will be required to rewrite individual paragraphs using thesaurus.com to interchange particular words (5) they choose.  Each student will also be required to write their own individual creative ending to the story.  Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato will facilitate as well as work with students that need additional assistance.

Group reports will be concluded in Healthcare class on Obesity and Anorexia.


Individual reports will conclude in World History class on the topic of Women of different nationalities that have affected the world with their contributions.

Students in English Lit will complete assignments from Monday.


The Healthcare class will begin presentations on Obesity and Anorexia.  This project will include causes and statistics on each area.


The World History class will begin their presentations on Women as we continue to celebrate Women's History month.


Each class is facilitated by Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato.

The English Lit class will begin reading a new short story by the author O'Henry entitled "Twenty years.
Higher functioning students will read story on their own.  Students that need additional assistance will read with Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato.  At the conclusion of the story, students will be assigned the following:

1) use thesaurus.com to look up synonyms and antonyms for vocabulary words

2) List 15 facts from the story


Students in Healthcare will work on completing group projects on obesity and anorexia for Tuesday and Wednesday.


The World History class will complete individual projects on women for Tuesday and Wednesday.  Each student will also prepare a feedback sheet which will be one of the following:
1) 5 true/false statements
2) 5 multiple choice questions
3) fill-in graphic organizer requiring 5 facts
4) 5 fill in the blank

Students will continue working on packet to prepare for test on Friday on: A Retrieved Reformation.


Mrs. Wrights students will attend CBI trip at Target.  They will make up their own budget to shop for items for their first apartment.


The World History class will complete class rubrics (one for regular class time and one for projects).

The English Lit class will begin reviewing for a test on short story: A Retrieved Reformation.  They will be given a packet to begin working on.  Students will also begin working on their class rubrics.  Mrs. Wright will model a rubric for the class.


Presentations on Obesity and Anorexia will begin.  Mrs. Wright will facilitate.

Students in English Lit will listen to a video recorded reading of O'Henry's: A Retrieved Reformation.  After each chapter the students will discuss the story.  They will be asked to do reflections after each chapter and to also pull the story a part and talk about what they would do differently from any of the characters in the story.  This will be done as a group assignment.  One person in the group will record the information that is shared and pass in.  Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato will facilitate.


Group Presentations in Obesity and Healthcare will begin on Wednesday.  Students will finish up working on presentations.   Mrs. Wright will facilitate.


World History group presentations will begin.  Mrs. Wright will facilitate.

The English Lit class will review the short story by O'Henry "A Retrieved Reformation."  The class will work in  groups on selecting a paragraph to change using thesaurus.com.  The second assignment will involve writing their own ending to this story.  Mrs. Wright will model a lesson on writing an original ending to a story.  Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato will facilitate assignments and activities.


Students in Healthcare will continue working on Obesity and Anorexia projects.  The groups will presents facts and statistics for each area.  Mrs. Wright, Ms. Plato and Mrs. Ryan will facilitate assignments.


The World History class will complete project assignments on the invention of the computer.  Presentations will begin on Tuesday.  Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato will facilitate.
