The English Lit class will see a second viewing of "Great Expectations."   We will discuss the similarities in book and in the movie that has been seen so far.  The class will also be invited to do reflections.

Students in the first and second block will be allowed to complete any missed assignments for English Lit and Health class.  The fourth block class will wrap up their reports on the (4) different economies.

They will then break up in groups and each create a healthy menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The health class is studying proper health in terms of eating.  We discussed the pros and cons and how important it is to develop healthy eating habits.  The class was assigned to make a 7-day meal plan of what they already have in a week's time.  They are being displayed on the bulletin board on the outside of the classroom.

Students were introduced to the author of Great Expectations, Charles Dickens.  We explored his life together on biography and looked at other information given on Wikipedia.  He is noted for his other famous work "A Christmas Carol."  He passed away at the early age of 58 after suffering a series of strokes.  As we discussed his life, students were taught how to take notes on his life and the novel that we are reading "Great Expectations."

The economics class began a unit on factors of production that included learning terms such as capital, labor, entrepreneur and land.  These terms were discussed and students were asked to complete an assignment giving examples of each category.

The English literature classes were introduced the use of vocabulary along with the story Great Expectations.
We also discussed the time frame and the author that wrote this novel, Charles Dickens.

As an ice breaker, each student was asked to think of a word that described their summer and give a definition or reason why they used this particular word.
