Students in Economics class will begin preparing reports and projects on economists to report to the class beginning the week of October 6.

The Health class will begin to really investigate the causes and treatments of diabetes.  There is a need for all of us to understand how important it is to develop healthy habits to prevent this disease.  We will study both types of the disease.  Assignments will follow.

Students in English Lit class will continue reading chapters 21-25 of Great Expectations.  Each group will be allowed to select a chapter to read, discuss and then share reflections with the class.

The Economics class will continue with the unit on the "Free Enterprise System in the United States."  Students will continue to study Adam Smith and other economists that have had an effect on how our economy has been set up from early times until now.  The class will begin doing research on other economists, especially those that have affected our standard of living in the United States.

The English Lit class will continue reading chapters 21-25 of "Great Expectations."  Students will continue working in groups on the comprehension/paraphrasing activity presented in class on Friday.

Students in Health class will begin new unit on Diabetes and Obesity.

The English Lit class will continue reading chapters 13 - 17 and view a few minutes of the movie.  They will be required to continue group discussions and written reflections.

Students in Health will form study groups to prepare for test on foodborne illnesses.  They will be tested on listeria, staph, botulism, salmonela, ecoli, mad cow, and shigella.

The Economics class will continue with the unit on the free enterprise system in the United States.  Group assignments will be given on: private property rights, economic competition, profit, etc.

Students in Health class will begin a review for an upcoming test on foodborne illnesses.  Test will be administered on Friday or Monday of the following week.

The students in English Lit will continue with the novel "Great Expectations."  The class will begin reading chapters 13 - 17 and use vocabulary to help in continuing to understand the story line.  Group discussions and reflections will continue.  Facilitation will be done by Mrs. Wright and Ms. Plato.
