G. Wright - September 2

Students in Mrs. Wright's class will continue working on the following:

Bill of Rights, Helping Verbs, and Stuctural art. 


They will be also allowed to complete missing assignments to be handed in for these and other classes for this week.

G. Wright - September 1

Students in math will continue their study and assignments on addition and subtraction of fractions with like denominators.  The following week we will begin learning how to reduce.



The third period class will continue activities and assignments pertaining to Thomas Edison.  Students will be assigned  to complete a timeline of his life and work.



The health class will continue lessons, discussions and assignments on the importance of good personal hygiene.

The history class will begin learning the first five amendments of the Bill of Rights.  Class discussion and assignments to follow.


Students will learn the importance of speaking and also writing using correct helping verbs. (is, are, am, has, had, have,etc.)


The students in structural art will begin drawing activities.  They will view videos, have demonstrations, discussions and utilize what they are learning in preparing activities to pass in.

Students in first block will be introduced to addition and subtraction of fractions with like denominators.

Note:  Students will review a broad overview of the subjects in each area, followed by demonstration activities with Ms. Wright.   The class will then break up into the following:  independent work,
peer-group work and various group activities.

Students in math will continue working with order of operations.  The class is learning how to complete extended operations that include parenthesis, and multiple operations.

We will review for the science test on Friday.   Students will also complete group projects on the various types of clouds that are in our atmosphere.

Students will combine the information they presented on Monday on the 3 branches of government on a poster to be displayed in the classroom.


The English class will complete their assignment on adjectives that they were working on Monday to pass in.

Students did great on their first math test.  We will move to level 2 of order of operation which will include using parenthesis.


The science class will prepare for a test on the life of Benjamin Banneker.  A study packet will be handed out, completed and reviewed.

Students in history class will present their group reports on the three branches of government.


The English class will complete their assignment on the various kinds of adjectives that include, noun, color, origin, material, opinion, purpose, age, shape, etc.  The second part of the assignment will involve writing sentences using what they have come up with as examples.

The class on community service will share their reports on the different service organizations: Goodwill, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, etc.

First Block:  Students in math will continue working on order of operation and complete assignments for the week.


Third Block:   The science class will complete their assignment from Wednesday and share with their classmates on today.


Fourth Block:  Students will complete their group assignments on their individual diet plans and begin sharing in whole group setting.

First Block:  The history class will develop a chart on the three branches of government.  Students will work on each branch in a group.   A final chart will be developed from each group to be posted and part of our studying on the three branches.


Third Block:  Students in English class will create a chart on the different types of adjectives to include:  number, color, size, origin, age, purpose, and shape.



Fourth Block:  Students in community service will actually research a community service organization and record factual information to share in groups.

First Block:  Students will be assigned interactive activities on a math website to complete on order of operation.


Third Block:  The science class will look up facts on the moon, stars and sun.  Students will complete this information in groups and share out with classmates.


Fourth Block:  Students in health will given assignments to create diet plans.   They will be assigned a situation to develop a particular diet plan (for example an obese teenager or an adult with diabetes).  Students will work in groups.  This assignment will be presented to the class on Friday.

First Block:   The history class is studying the three branches of government:  executive, legislative, and judicial branch.   We will explore each branch individually and then understand how each one also works together.


Third Block:  Students in English are studying the different kinds of adjectives. 


Fourth Block:   Students in community service are presenting their projects on community service organizations they have created.
